9. Dream more while you are awake.
Whoa! I like that! Not just daydreaming, it's the perfect opportunity to listen to God speak. And today is a beautiful day for that. With the warm temps and the light, warm wind, it's perfect conditions to sit and meditate on things in your life right now and how you can manage them in God's planning. Just to sit and speak to God in the peace and quiet of his time and place, and then to listen is the ultimate blessing.
Today I didn't get that chance to lunch outside but I did finish the book I was reading. And I'm really looking forward to this weekend.
We have no gas or electricity which translates to mean no TV and plenty of peace and quiet. So this weekend is MY chance to dream more while I'm awake and truly benefit from it. I'm so excited, I see this as an adventure. So far it's been fun using candles, getting to bed early, teaching the grandkids that there's more than just tv and vcr.
And now that the weather is turning back to cold next week it'll be even more quiet time since I don't want the little ones in my cold home. But I will love snuggling under quilts and afgans and memorizing Bible verses! At least, that's my goal for now. We'll see what God's plan is because He'll know better than me.
Right now I feel TOTALLY BLESSED to not have utilities. I've always wanted to live around the turn of the century (which used to mean the 1900s) when life to us now seemed so much simpler. So God is giving me that opportunity. And I'm pretty pleased about it, too. Kinda like camping inside but I doubt that we'll build any fires! So, you see, this is really a dream of mine coming true, I can dream more this weekend and next week while I'm awake!
And I have a charcoal smoker where I'm gonna try to cook a roast and vegetables and potatoes tomorrow. Ok, I'm excited. How about you? Will you take time to dream?
