Ok, so thanks for following me another day....and what a day it started to be....
3. Buy a DVR and tape your late night shows and get more sleep .
Late night shows? hmmmm, I think I remember those, at least when they were interesting. Late night movies were better, tho. Ok, so nothing for me to tape there.
Buy a DVR? Yeah, right, when I can't buy anything more than gas for my van right now. Last paycheck: 11/30/2008. However, NEXT paybcheck 3/13/2009, woohoo! DVR? No, I don't think so. If I can't watch a show it's too bad since I know the world will not end just because I will miss a show. Actually, the shows that travel through my aged brain during my sleeping hours are far better than any show New York or Hollywood could produce.
In fact, since I gave up cable (or they gave up waiting for me to pay the bill) I've made more things (baby blankets, adult blankets, MY blanket, hair ornaments, and on and on), started drawing again, and read more books than I have in a long time....and I really enjoy it more! I do love movies, but as far as that goes, I'm cancelling my Netflix account today and pulling books out of boxes in storage and off the shelves. That leaves more money for gas for the van so I don't stress over getting to work and church!
Ok, so I don't have a DVR and I ain't gonna buy a DVR, but I am going to try to get back to a bed time so that I do get the required sleep. Went to bed early the last two nights just so the "grandchild of the night" would go to sleep. Not so smart for me since I kept waking up all night long and then didn't want to get out of bed in the morning. So there's penalties for too little sleep and penalties for too much sleep, I just gotta get on a schedule like a little baby, I reckon. Maybe I just need someone to tuck me in each night and be there with me in the morning. Or not.
So here's a challenge: Do you own the TV or does the TV own you? Try NO TV just one time during one of your favorite shows.....then decide WHO has control. It may take awhile, but you too can go back to controlling your tv. Personally, my tv is grounded for a bit while I take time to finish up a cross stitch project started over 10 years ago. Well, that's another story because it was started by my BFF at the time. It became my project when my BFF went to the Lord during the night. So, can I finish it? Yes, I can!
Love ya all.
