Day 2 of 40 tips....and anything else I want to say...

Day two, but how did you do on Day 1? Go ahead if you need to admit defeat it's okay to start late. Hello, Jesus. Yes, thanks for joining me today. You've made it extra special for me. All glory and praise and honor to YOU.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.

That does mean ten consecutive minutes, thus the emphasis on the lock!

When I lived in Canada my brother and my son both knew that when I was in the bathroom NO ONE was to knock on that door or bother me in any way. AND it was usually longer than 10 minutes, but it was MY time to soak, relax, forget, pray, generally zone out from everyday life and problems. It soon became the best thing to ever happen and it was a much nicer and kinder person that came out of that bath!

There's just something about a warm bath, bubbles, candles, a cup of tea or Wild Turkey & Dr. Pepper, and a good book. Now that I think about it, that was every day then, so why don't I do that more often now? No, not the WT & DP, just the bubble bath. Good point! Another goal. Can't start tonight, tho, because Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy are on.

But I finally made it outside for lunch today. That was awesome. Read another short story in the book I'm currently (physically) reading - I'm also "reading" an audible book on my long drives to and from work. And there are many times that I drive without the radio so that I have "quiet" time, too.

The lock wouldn't be my problem, the 'staying awake' would be, tho. I'm one of those that just can't sit still. That's why I'm blogging right now. I'm filling in for a receptionist and the phone just ain't ringing! And I left my book back at my desk across campus. Wow, really??? You're correct! This would be a perfect time for my 10 minutes of silence!

10 minutes of silence is the perfect opportunity to listen to God. So while YOU are silent, listen for that still small voice, and I mean really, really listen. Oh, I think I hear him calling me know.....sorry, gotta run away from this now for at least ten minutes..........
