Day 16

Wow, talk about food, what I need is exercise!!

16 . Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

So does that mean that I can't eat dinner because the credit card is maxed out and we've run outa money?? Problem is that it's a bad habit that I picked up as a kid. Mom always made sure we had plenty to eat and she fed us some great homecooked meals. But then she fed us again. And again. And because we kept doing it then it became a habit! So in my early years I learned to eat and I got pretty good at it finally. And now I'm so good that it's a very hard habit to break. I just want to do it all the time! Okay now....

Breakfast is a great way to start the day. But I found that if I eat in the morning then I want to eat all day long.

Lunch should be the most important and the biggest meal of the day. That way you still have time to let it digest and maybe not turn to solid fat immediately.

Dinner is just a chance to fill the void or continue the habit, but don't eat if it's close to bedtime. All that food waiting to digest goes straight to the "bad" areas and you can pretty well picture it in the mirror the next morning.

So I can see eating regularly and eating healthy, but come on, let's not overdo it. I like Pastor Craig's idea of fasting. If nothing else it will remind my body of who really is in charge! Until it starts growling so bad it interrupts the business meeting. Yeah, right about who's in charge!

But fasting like Pastor Craig and his wonderful wife Amy do really is special. So, they're on a 40 day fast from desserts. How cool is that! When they think about some dessert item, then they take the time to pray. And since they're on day 30+ you know they're so much closer to God.

I can't wait till Tuesday so I can join them in the One Prayer fast. God really touched my soul with this series.

Okay, I just finished an oatmeal bar and when you quit sugar, the honey in that oatmeal bar made is taste almost like pure sugar. So, don't think fasting from something near and dear (to your tummy???) is gonna be absolutely awful. It's not. Try it.

Okay, now I'm off to www.oneprayer.com to blog. Won't you join me?
